A Fractional-Order System with Coexisting Chaotic Attractors and Control Chaos via a Single State Variable Linear Controller

open access: yesComplexity, 2018
A 3D fractional-order nonlinear system with coexisting chaotic attractors is proposed in this paper. The necessary condition of the existence chaos is q≥0.8477. The fractional-order system exhibits chaotic attractors with the order as low as 2.5431.

Shape Characteristic Analysis of Chaotic Attractors for Leakage Current Signal of Ice-Covered Insulator

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The change and development of leakage current (LC) during the flashover process of insulators are closely related to the discharge process. Characteristic quantities of LC play an important role in the identification and prediction of ice-covered ...

Chaotic itinerancy and power-law residence time distribution in stochastic dynamical system

open access: yes, 2005
To study a chaotic itinerant motion among varieties of ordered states, we propose a stochastic model based on the mechanism of chaotic itinerancy. The model consists of a random walk on a half-line, and a Markov chain with a transition probability matrix.

Chaotic and pseudochaotic attractors of perturbed fractional oscillator

open access: yes, 2005
We consider a nonlinear oscillator with fractional derivative of the order alpha. Perturbed by a periodic force, the system exhibits chaotic motion called fractional chaotic attractor (FCA). The FCA is compared to the ``regular'' chaotic attractor.

Chaotic Dynamics Analysis and FPGA Implementation Based on Gauss Legendre Integral

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we first design the corresponding integration algorithm and matlab program according to the Gauss–Legendre integration principle. Then, we select the Lorenz system, the Duffing system, the hidden attractor chaotic system and the Multi-wing

Chaotic Attractor Generation via Space Function Controls

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2011
The analysis of chaotic attractor generation is given, and the generation of novel chaotic attractor is introduced in this paper. The underlying mechanism involves two simple linear systems with one-dimensional, two-dimensional, or three-dimensional ...

Memory Storage Systems Utilizing Chaotic Attractor-Merging Bifurcation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
In nonlinear dynamical systems with barriers/thresholds, the signal response against a weak external input signal is enhanced by an appropriate additive noise (stochastic resonance).

Emergence of chaotic attractor and anti-synchronization for two coupled monostable neurons

open access: yes, 2004
The dynamics of two coupled piece-wise linear one-dimensional monostable maps is investigated. The single map is associated with Poincare section of the FitzHugh-Nagumo neuron model.

A Strange Double-Deck Butterfly Chaotic Attractor from a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with Smooth Air Gap: Numerical Analysis and Experimental Observation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
A permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) model with smooth air gap and an exogenous periodic input is introduced and analyzed in this paper. With a simple mathematical transformation, a new nonautonomous Lorenz-like system is derived from this PMSM ...

Cascade of Invariant Curve Doubling Bifurcations and Quasi-Periodic Hénon Attractor in the Discrete Lorenz-84 Model [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия Саратовского университета. Новая серия: Физика, 2020
Background and Objectives: Chaotic behavior is one of the fundamental properties of nonlinear dynamical systems, including maps. Chaos can be most easily and reliably diagnosed using the largest Lyapunov exponent, which will be positive for the chaotic ...
