Coherence and Chaotic Resonances
2015Real systems are subjected to certain amount of unavoidable internal or external random perturbations, usually termed as noise. The presence of noise is not only unavoidable in electrical and electronic devices, but it can significantly affect their performance. As pointed out in the beginning of Chap.

Summary: The resonance problem and chaotic dynamics, described by the Duffing equation, are reexamined when excitation is external or parametric. Starting from the similarity existing between these two different phenomena, a new concept is introduced: \textit{chaotic resonance}.

Resonant Chaotic Mixing in a Cellular Flow
Physical Review Letters, 2007This Letter presents a quantitative theory of resonant mixing in time-dependent volume-preserving 3D flows using a model cellular flow introduced in T. Solomon and I. Mezic, Nature (London) 425, 376 (2003), as an example. Specifically, we show that chaotic advection is dramatically enhanced by a time-dependent perturbation for certain resonant ...

Wave-Chaotic Optical Resonators and Lasers
Quantum Chaos Y2K, 2001Deformed cylindrical and spherical dielectric optical resonators and lasers are analyzed from the perspective of non-linear dynamics and quantum chaos theory. In the short-wavelength limit such resonators behave like billiard systems with non-zero escape probability due to refraction.

Ghost resonance in the chaotic Chua's circuit
Physical Review E, 2012We experimentally investigate the ghost resonance phenomenon in the electronic circuit of Chua operating in the chaotic regime. The circuit can be stimulated to jump between two single-scroll attractors by an external periodic signal with an amplitude above an intrinsic threshold.
