Symplectic Synchronization of Lorenz-Stenflo System with Uncertain Chaotic Parameters via Adaptive Control

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
A new symplectic chaos synchronization of chaotic systems with uncertain chaotic parameters is studied. The traditional chaos synchronizations are special cases of the symplectic chaos synchronization. A sufficient condition is given for the asymptotical

Two Scenarios of Breaking Chaotic Phase Synchronization

open access: yes, 2007
Two types of phase synchronization (accordingly, two scenarios of breaking phase synchronization) between coupled stochastic oscillators are shown to exist depending on the discrepancy between the control parameters of interacting oscillators, as in the ...

Anticipating synchronization of chaotic Lur’e systems

open access: yesChaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2007
In this paper we consider the anticipating synchronization of chaotic time-delayed Lur’e-type systems in a master-slave setting. We introduce three scenarios for anticipating synchronization, and give sufficient conditions for the existence of anticipating synchronizing slave systems in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

Rethinking Face‐to‐Face Interaction: Lessons from Studies of “Autistic Sociality”

open access: yesSymbolic Interaction, EarlyView.
Face‐to‐face interaction is a foundational concept in microsociology. This article surveys the social experiences of autistic people, who are commonly known for having a strained relationship with interactions face to face. By interpretively reviewing and synthesizing the broader literature on “autistic sociality,” the article provides a nuanced ...

Coexistence of synchronization and anti-synchronization in chaotic systems

open access: yesArchives of Control Sciences, 2016
The coexistence of anti-synchronization and synchronization in chaotic systems is investigated. A novel algorithm is proposed to determine the variables of the master system that should anti-synchronize with corresponding variables of the slave system ...

Chaos synchronization in gap-junction-coupled neurons

open access: yes, 2005
Depending on temperature the modified Hodgkin-Huxley (MHH) equations exhibit a variety of dynamical behavior including intrinsic chaotic firing. We analyze synchronization in a large ensemble of MHH neurons that are interconnected with gap junctions.

SMART CITY CONTROL ROOMS: The Rewiring of Local Governance Landscapes in India

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Smart city control rooms are prominent components of the smart city discourse. They embody a long‐standing dream to visualize and manage multiple urban processes in real time through the collation of data flows. Previous research has produced important insights into the design, construction and operation of these facilities.

Projective synchronization in fractional order chaotic systems and its control

open access: yes, 2006
The chaotic dynamics of fractional (non-integer) order systems have begun to attract much attention in recent years. In this paper, we study the projective synchronization in two coupled fractional order chaotic oscillators.

STREETS AS STAGES: Traffic Enforcement and the Competition for Cultural Growth in China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In keeping with China’s desire to build soft power to parallel its economic growth, the policing of city streets has moved to the forefront as a mechanism for moral regulation and improving urban prestige. Under pressure to civilize their citizenry, many Chinese cities have become entrepreneurial cities within a type of cultural growth ...
