Encoding messages using chaotic synchronization
Physical Review E, 1996We discuss a general approach for chaotic synchronization of dynamical systems that is based on an active-passive decomposition (APD) of given dynamical systems. It is shown how this approach can be used to construct high-dimensional synchronizing systems in a systematic way using low-dimensional systems as building blocks. Furthermore, two methods for

Impulsive synchronization of chaotic systems
Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2005The issue of impulsive synchronization of a class of chaotic systems is investigated. Based on the impulsive theory and linear matrix inequality technique, some less conservative and easily verified criteria for impulsive synchronization of chaotic systems are derived.

SYNTHESIZING SELF-SYNCHRONIZING CHAOTIC ARRAYS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1994A systematic approach is developed for synthesizing dissipative chaotic arrays that possess the self-synchronization property. The ability to synthesize high-dimensional chaotic arrays further enhances the usefulness of synchronized chaotic systems for communications, signal processing, and modeling of physical processes.

Phase Synchronization of Chaotic Rotators
Physical Review Letters, 2002We demonstrate the existence of phase synchronization of two chaotic rotators. Contrary to phase synchronization of chaotic oscillators, here the Lyapunov exponents corresponding to both phases remain positive even in the synchronous regime. Such frequency locked dynamics with different ratios of frequencies are studied for driven continuous-time ...

Transition to intermittent chaotic synchronization
Physical Review E, 2005Coupled chaotic oscillators can exhibit intermittent synchronization in the weakly coupling regime, as characterized by the entrainment of their dynamical variables in random time intervals of finite duration. We find that the transition to intermittent synchronization can be characteristically distinct for geometrically different chaotic attractors ...

Generalized Synchronization in Chaotic Systems
Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 1998Let there be a drive system \(dx/dt=f(x), \;x\in \mathbb{R}^n\), and a function \(H: \mathbb{R}^n \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^m\). The goal is to construct a response system \(dy/dt = g(u(x),y)\) with the drive function \(u\) such that \(||y(t, y_0) - H(x(t,x_0))||\rightarrow 0\) as \(t \rightarrow \infty\) (generalized synchronization).

Chaotic synchronization through coupling strategies
Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2006Usually, complete synchronization (CS) is regarded as the form of synchronization proper of identical chaotic systems, while generalized synchronization (GS) extends CS in nonidentical systems. However, this generally accepted view ignores the role that the coupling plays in determining the type of synchronization.

SYNTHESIZING SELF-SYNCHRONIZING CHAOTIC SYSTEMS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1993A systematic approach is developed for synthesizing N-dimensional dissipative chaotic systems which possess the self-synchronization property. The ability to synthesize new chaotic systems further enhances the usefulness of synchronized chaotic systems for communications.

Transforming signals with chaotic synchronization
Physical Review E, 1996We introduce a general technique to alter the properties of chaotic signals used with coupled chaotic systems. The changes we introduce allow one to vary the synchronization properties of synchronized chaotic circuits, synchronize chaotic systems that do not otherwise synchronize, vary the spectral properties of chaotic signals, and produce a variety ...

Chaotic Synchronization for Scene Segmentation
International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2003In this work, we analyze the synchronization role in a 1D array of coupled continuous chaotic elements. The ordinary differential equations, which represent each chaotic element, have a stable linear part perturbed by a bounded nonlinear function. A theorem is established to give sufficient condition to obtain synchronization of the array.
