Synchronization of regular and chaotic systems

Physical Review A, 1992
We investigate the synchronization between two systems consisting of coupled circle maps that have a common drive, which may be chaotic or regular. We observe several new aspects of chaotic and regular synchronization. In the chaotic regime the transition from synchronization to nonsynchronization corresponds to the transition from one to two positive ...

Chaotic signals and systems for communications

IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 1993
The authors propose and demonstrate two approaches to communications based on synchronized chaotic signals and systems. In the first approach, a chaotic masking signal is added at the transmitter and regenerated and subtracted at the receiver. The second approach utilizes modulation of the coefficients of the chaotic system in the transmitter and ...

Decay of ordered and chaotic systems

Physical Review Letters, 1990
We study the decay of classical systems with regular and chaotic dynamics by investigating the escape of a particle from a container with a small hole. For the case of ergodic motion, we find an exponential decay law, whereas the nonchaotic system decays according to a power law.

Chaotic dynamical systems: an introduction

Economic Theory, 1994
In his Memoirs, Stigler (1988, p. 78) observed that economic "theorists like new and strange constructs that create a new world or change the way of looking at the current one". I f this is a correct description of the preferences of economic theorists, one ought to expect continued interest in the fascinating development of the literature on dynamical

The Complexity Analysis of Chaotic Systems

2014
The complexity of the sequence is an important index of quantify the performance of chaotic sequence. In order to select a higher complexity of chaotic sequence and apply it in hardware encryption system, this paper analyzes chaotic complexity quantitative analysis methods and presents the approximate entropy and permutation entropy as criterion of ...

Noise and synchronization in chaotic systems

Physical Review E, 1996
We investigate the behavior of several noisy nonlinear dynamical models in order to find out whether the presence of a common noise term may synchronize identical chaotic systems as recently supposed [S. Fahy and D. R. Hamann, Phys. Rev. Lett. 69, 761 (1993); A. Maritan and J. R. Banavar, ibid. 72, 1451 (1994)].
