Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Character recognition has numerous applications namely postal addresses, bank check amounts, documents, number plates, etc. Development of a recognition system is an emerging need for digitizing handwritten documents that use Tamil characters. Therefore, we created a prediction model to recognize Tamil characters, the model works based on the Deep ...

Cartographic Character Recognition
SPIE Proceedings, 1989This work details a methodology for recognizing text elements on cartographic documents. Cartographic Character Recognition differs from traditional OCR in that many fonts may occur on the same page, text may have any orientation, text may follow a curved path, and text may be interfered with by graphics.

Data entry using a pen forms a natural, convenient interface especially for handheld devices, which are very common now. The large number of writing styles and the variability between them makes the problem of writer-independent handwriting recognition a challenging pattern recognition problem.

A study of the single-gap-scan approach to character recognition, using an IBM 650 for simulation, is reported. Ten specially designed digits were used in this study. Character recognition is discussed in terms of some simple concepts from n-dimensional geometry.

Handwritten Character Recognition
2020This chapter discusses isolating and recognizing individual characters. It moves closer to capturing the true problems that need to be overcome in designing high-performance character recognizers for handwritten word recognition applications. In broad terms, character recognition refers to a computer reading some part of some type of document.

Character recognition symposium
ITNOW, 1967Abstract Coincident with the publication of the Society’s Handbook on Character Recognition, there was a symposium on the subject at the Connaught Rooms on 7 December. Attendance was over 370. The papers ranged from the technical aspects of character recognition to the experiences of those who are currently using these techniques in a ...
