Review on the Effects of Characteristic Impedance Mismatching in a Stripline Kicker

open access: yes, 2016
A stripline kicker operates as two coupled transmission lines, with two TEM operating modes, known as odd and even modes. The characteristic impedance of these two modes is generally different, both only tend to the same value either when the electrodes ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Total inspiratory and expiratory impedance in patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

open access: yesClinics, 2011
OBJECTIVES: Several studies have confirmed the high potential of the forced oscillation technique for the assessment of respiratory modifications related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Characteristic impedance, power, and causality

open access: yes, 1999

Empirical relationship of characteristic impedance with rock drillability and cuttability

open access: yes
In rock and mining engineering, it is essential to predict rock cuttability and drillability for estimating drilling costs, selecting suitable drilling/cutting machine and tools, and achieving high productivity.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Dissecting contributions of pulmonary arterial remodeling to right ventricular afterload in pulmonary hypertension

open access: yesBioengineering & Translational Medicine
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is defined as an elevation in the right ventricular (RV) afterload, characterized by increased hemodynamic pressure in the main pulmonary artery (PA).
