Periodic characteristics of composite membrane permeability
Journal of Microencapsulation, 1989The permeability of the microcapsule membrane is one of the important characteristics in evaluating the function of microcapsule. In order to specify the mechanism of the oscillatory permeation of electrolytes through composite membranes, we derived a solution to the equation for the transport phenomena through the membrane composed of different ...

Wave characteristics of a cylinder with periodic ribs
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2017This paper deals with wave characteristics of a cylinder with periodic ribs. The equation of motion of the stiffened cylinder is first derived using a receptance coupling method. The dispersion diagrams of the stiffened cylinder are then obtained in order to figure out the effects of the ribs on the wave propagation.

Characteristics of intussusception in the period of arbitrary Rotavirus vaccination
Pediatrics International, 2022AbstractBackgroundIn November 2011, rotavirus (RV) vaccine was launched in Japan as a voluntary vaccination to prevent RV‐associated gastroenterocolitis. We examined the characteristics of intussusception following RV vaccination in our two centers.MethodsWe investigated intussusception patients <16 years old from January 2006 to September 2020 ...

Periodic method of characteristics
Journal of Computational Physics, 1973Abstract A modification to the method of characteristics (MOC) is described for solving a system of two first order hyperbolic partial differential equations possessing periodic solutions. The condition of the physical system is specified by two boundary conditions at a single spatial location.

Calculation of Characteristic Values for Periodic Potentials
Physical Review, 1933Section II reviews the general properties of the solutions of differential equations with periodic coefficients, the socalled Hill and Mathieu equations. In Section III asymptotic formulae for the eigenvalues of the Mathieu equation in the oscillatory region (Eq.

Response characteristics of a neuron model to a periodic input
Kybernetik, 1974A mathematical neuron model defined by a difference equation was investigated when it was exposed to an environment of a periodic input stimulus. It is shown that pulse sequences constructed in advance by a particular method are actually realizable as the output of the system and the condition for the output sequence is also obtained with respect to ...
