Catalyst characterization: characterization techniques

Catalysis Today, 1997
The most remarkable difference between catalysis during the 50s and 60s and nowadays is the remarkable development of characterization techniques. Various factors contributed to that growth: (i) need of having a better control on the catalyst in order to meet the requirements for further optimization of processes already in operation and/or for ...

Serological Characterization

2003
Immunoassays employ a range of methods to detect and quantify antigens or antibodies and to study the composition of antigens. This chapter describes four useful immunoassays for serological characterization of antigens of Neisseria meningitidis: whole-cell enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA); dot blot, colony blot, and immunoblot.

Characterizing Mycoviruses

2018
A variety of methods for the detection and characterization of fungal viruses are available. For many years, serological and biological assays were used for virus detection. Today, more sensitive methods like polymerase chain reaction, together with sequencing, are widely used to study viruses.

Characterization of marine and terrestrial DOM in seawater using excitation-emission matrix spectroscopy

Oceanographic Literature Review, 1996
High-resolution fluorescence spectroscopy was used to characterize dissolved organic matter (DOM) in concentrated and unconcentrated water samples from a wide variety of freshwater, coastal and marine environments.

Human characterization and emotion characterization from gait

2010 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology, 2010
Human gait has been proven to be of importance when trying to recognize people. In addition gait also conveys the emotional state of someone. The present study propose to objectively and systematically analyze gait data to highlight features that can characterize someone and the emotion conveyed. Rather than using gait stance phase, frequency, footstep

Immunological Characterization

2003
As part of the assessment of product consistency and putative potency, it is often necessary to check not only that a vaccine contains the desired antigens, but also that they are in the correct immunological form (see Note 1). In general, this immunological characterization of a vaccine is interpreted as the ability of the preparation to invoke an ...

Abstract The view which has been preferred so far is that choice of law is relevant 3.01 where equitable doctrines are sought to be applied in a case involving international elements, because there is nothing in the nature of the equit able rules of the law of the forum that requires their mandatory application, and that not all ...
