Drying kinetics of olive pomace-derived charcoal briquettes with energy consumption
The drying experiments were performed at different temperatures of the drying air (40, 50, and 60°C) and air velocity of 2.5 and 3.5 m/s. Six thin-layer drying models were evaluated and fitted to the experimental moisture data.

Abstract Paddy leaves can be used to make charcoal briquettes and good as renewable energy sources. The charcoal briquettes were pressed at a pressure range of 50 – 90 bars using the cold press machine. This paper reports the physical and mechanical properties of charcoal briquettes produced from paddy leaves.

Hydrochar‐mill‐scale briquettes with varying C/O molar ratios (0.07–0.90) have been tested at 1650 °C to evaluate their slag foaming performance for electric arc furnace application. All seven briquette recipes developed succeed in promoting slag foaming.
