Genetics of nonsenescence and charcoal rot resistance in sorghum
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1993Nonsenescence is a delayed leaf and plant death resistance mechanism in sorghum that circumvents the detrimental effects of reduced soil moisture combined with high temperatures during post-anthesis growth. This drought-tolerance mechanism is often equated with charcoal rot resistance, a widespread root and stalk disease of great destructive potential.

Evaluation of sunflower germplasm against charcoal rot
Journal of Oilseeds Research, 2023A total of 85 sunflower genotypes were evaluated against charcoal rot by imposing drought conditions during flowering. Disease assessment was done by taking inner lesion length that varied from 0.70 cm 47.82 cm and the average inner lesion length of non-irrigated trials was more as compared to irrigated trials.

Charcoal root and stem rot of Eucalyptus
European Journal of Forest Pathology, 1985Abstract Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid. caused a serious root and stem rot in juvenile seedlings of Eucalyptus in nurseries. This is a new host record. The pathogen produced systemic infection in the seedlings. The symptoms and histopathology and factors influencing the disease were studied.
