Rho exchange in charge-exchange reactions

Physical Review C, 1992
We have studied the role of rho meson exchange in the transition potential for the charge-exchange reactions {ital p}({ital n},{ital p}){ital n} and {ital p}({ital p},{ital n}){Delta}{sup ++} at intermediate energies. The cross sections are calculated in the distorted-wave Born approximation.

Neutron-proton charge exchange

Physical Review C, 1994
We have studied the role of one- and two-pion exchange in the neutron-proton charge exchange cross section and spin-transfer variables. The cross section shows a scaling behavior over a wide energy range, consistent with a one-meson-exchange amplitude, and the spin-transfer observables are nearly invariant on a finite (but smaller) energy range.

Pion charge exchange in the deuteron

Physical Review C, 1996
We calculate the differential cross section of the reaction {ital d}({pi}{sup {minus}},{pi}{sup 0}){ital nn} between 164 and 500 MeV and compare the results with recent data. In general, we obtain good agreement with data except for the backward region at 263 and 371 MeV and the very forward region at 500 MeV.

Meson exchange currents in pion double charge exchange

Physical Review C, 1991
We examine the influence of meson exchange currents (MEC) on pion double charge exchange (DCX) using the Weinberg Lagrangian. We calculate the corresponding amplitude for DCX and examine its interplay with more conventional mechanisms of DCX for $^{14}\mathrm{C}$ at incident energies of 10 to 110 MeV and for the Ca isotopes at 35 MeV.

Hydration shells exchange charge with their protein

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2010
Investigation of the interaction between a protein and its hydration shells is an experimental and theoretical challenge. Here, we used ultrasonic pressure waves in aqueous solutions of a protein to explore the conformational states of the protein and its interaction with its hydration shells. In our experiments, the amplitude of an ultrasonic pressure

Charge exchange neutral sputtering in ASDEX

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1989
Abstract Neutral fluxes to the wall of ASDEX were measured with a new energy-resolving carbon resistance probe, CRP, combined with a mechanical shutter, providing time resolution. With the new CRP having two silicon overlayers of different thickness the non-Maxwellian energy distribution of the charge exchange neutrals can be approximately determined.

The theory of charge exchange

Reports on Progress in Physics, 1972
This report describes the development of the theory of charge exchange in collisions of ions with atoms or ions, paying particular attention to the work of the last decade. The successful approximations based on the impact parameter and classical path methods, suitable for low energy collisions, are treated in detail.

Charge-exchange reactions. Part 1.—Charge-exchange mass spectra of the polyfluorobenzenes

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1979
The charge-exchange spectra formed by the interaction of C2H+4, N2O+, CO+2, Ar+ and Ne+ with hexafluoro-, pentafluoro, 1,2,3,4-tetrafluoro-, 1,2,3,5-tetrafluoro-, 1,2,4,5-tetrafluoro, 1,3,4-trifluoro-, 1,3,5-trifluoro-, 1,2-difluoro, 1,3-difluoro-, 1,4-difluoro- and fluoro-benzene have been observed.

Charge Exchange: Atomistics

2014
This chapter addresses primarily the process of charge exchange and cross sections for electron capture. The theory of electron loss, which is similar to the theory of target ionization, is indicated only briefly in this chapter. The treatment of charge exchange includes classical and quantal theory of the Thomas process as well as other classical ...

Pion charge exchange and the optical theorem

Physical Review C, 1989
We give some applications of the optical theorem (and its extensions) to charge exchange reactions of pions between isobaric analog states of nuclear targets, based on isospin invariance. We then derive an inequality, valid in the strong absorption limit, to give a bound on reaction channels which may be contributing to the isotensor optical potential,
