Recent developments of charge injection and charge transfer in DNA

Chemical Communications, 2002
The question of whether and how electrons migrate through DNA was a matter of controversial discussion over the last ten years. Today, there is no doubt that long distance charge migration through DNA exists and most scientists explain this process by a multistep hopping mechanism.

A universal analytic charge injection model

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2000
In this paper we present an analytical model for charge injection in MOS switches that is valid for all regions of operation. The model is general and can be applied for different load conditions. We analyze and develop two separate charge injection models for the different operating conditions.

A Charge Injection Transistor Memory Cell

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1980
In this paper, two versions of an experimental bipolar dynamic memory cell are described. The memory cell consists of one p-channel MOSFET and a bipolar npn transistor with extensive node sharing. The MOSFET device controls the charge injection into the floating base of the npn transistor, and the bipolar device provides amplification for the stored ...

Contact-injected space charge in pet

Proceedings of First International Conference on Conduction and Breakdown in Solid Dielectrics, 1983
Absorption current (step-voltage response) measurements complemented by electron-beam and thermally stimulated depolarization experiments on Melinex PET films under stresses of the order 100 MV/m are summarized. They provide clear evidence of field and temperature dependent injection of electronic carriers from metal contacts, leading to the formation ...

Space charge injection into impurity semiconductors—II

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1963
Abstract The problem of current flow in a large gap semiconductor sandwiched between metal electrodes is considered. Equations are derived which describe space charge conduction in a material containing both donor and acceptor impurities. Numerical solutions to these equations are obtained for several situations having particular physical interest ...

Charge injection into monolayers

Colloids and Surfaces, 1984
Abstract Charge injection phenomena in lipid—iodine systems are studied by the monolayer technique. Surface potential measurements indicate that charge separation takes place during iodine adsorption at the lipid/water interface and also when a charge-transfer complex is formed between lipid and iodine.

Dynamics of Charge Injection and Charge Recombination in DNA Mini-Hairpins

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2017
Steady state spectroscopy, femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy (fsTA), and femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy (FSRS) of DNA mini-hairpins possessing a diphenylacetylenedicarboxamide (DPA) linker and 1-3 adenine-thymine (A-T) or guanine-cytosine (G-C) base pairs have been investigated.

Charge injection instability

ICSD'98. Proceedings of the 1998 IEEE 6th International Conference on Conduction and Breakdown in Solid Dielectrics (Cat. No.98CH36132), 2002
We show that charge injection at a field-enhancing defect in a dielectric free of carriers but with a nonlinear carrier mobility corresponds to an instability of the insulating state. The formation of the charged state is governed by two different processes with clearly separated time scales.

Charge injection into solid insulators

Digest of Technical Papers. Tenth IEEE International Pulsed Power Conference, 2002
Electrical conduction in insulators requires the presence of charge carriers. When an insulator is stressed at high fields between two electrodes, charge injection into the bulk can occur from the cathode. This injected charge is then able to influence the insulator and affect its voltage hold-off capabilities and other electrical properties.

Acoustoelectric charge injection in semiconductors

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 1995
A considerable change of trapped and free electric charge is observed in piezoelectric semiconductors in the presence of a traveling acoustic wave. The electric field, induced by the ultrasound, alters the electric equilibrium of the semiconductor sample, resulting in an accumulation of majority carriers at the surface with a consequent decrease in ...
