Rethinking Charge Transport and Recombination in Donor‐Diluted Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic solar cells with 1–45% PM6 content in Y12 were studied to link structure and charge dynamics to performance. The conductivity follows a 3D percolation model without a sharp threshold. Donor dilution preserves the photogeneration yield, but limits the fill factor due to transport resistance losses.

A Percolation Model of Innovation in Complex Technology [PDF]

open access: yes
Innovations are known to arrive more highly clustered than if they werepurely random, and their rate of arrival has been increasing nearlyexponentially for several centuries.

Self-defined dual charge percolation networks for solution-processed multithreshold transistors

open access: yes
This study demonstrates multithreshold engineering of a solution-processed heterojunction electrochemical transistor using a blend of n-type CdSe tetrapod-shaped nanocrystals (TpNCs) and an n-type polymeric organic semiconductor (OSC).

Unveiling Exsolution‐Induced Giant Electronic and Magnetic Property Changes in Non‐Stoichiometric Titanate Perovskite Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A giant insulator to metal transition and emergent superparamagnetism are revealed by nanoparticle exsolution in non‐stoichiometric titanate perovskite thin films. By combining transport, synchrotron spectroscopy, and first‐principles calculations, this work reveals how defect reconfiguration and lattice reconstruction fundamentally reshape electronic ...

Regularity of the time constant for a supercritical Bernoulli percolation

open access: yes, 2018
We consider an i.i.d. supercritical bond percolation on Z^d , every edge is open with a probability p > p_c (d), where p_c (d) denotes the critical parameter for this percolation. We know that there exists almost surely a unique infinite open cluster C_p

Large‐Scale Determination of Frontier Orbital Energies of Disordered Small‐Molecule Organic Semiconductors Using Exciplex Emission Spectra

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurately knowing the frontier orbital energies of the structurally disordered small‐molecule organic semiconductors that are used in optoelectronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes is required to rationally improve their performance. Here, we show that these energies can be deduced with a large accuracy from the peak energies of

Advanced Materials for Biologics Delivery to Brain Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Material innovation is central to unlocking the therapeutic potential of biologics against many central nervous system diseases, including brain cancer. By engineering carriers with controlled transport, targeting, and release properties, advanced materials can overcome the blood–brain barrier and tumor microenvironment, improving the delivery of ...

Analysis of Space Charge Formation in LDPE in the Presence of Crosslinking Byproducts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Cross-linking byproducts are suspected to be the main contributing factor in space charge formation observed in XLPE. To investigate the mechanism behind this phenomenon, low density polyethylene was soaked into three main crosslinking byproducts ...

Descriptors to Dynamics: A Materials and Device Perspective on in‐Materio Physical Reservoir Computing for Neuromorphic Edge Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Intrinsic material dynamics are harnessed as computational resources for neuromorphic in‐materio physical reservoir computing. Defects, ionic motion, interfaces, percolation, geometry, and biasing shape transient states that provide fading memory, nonlinearity, and high‐dimensional projection for simple readout. A descriptor‐to‐dynamics framework links
