Physical aspects of charge coupled devices
Physica Scripta, 1991Important physical phenomena like incomplete charge transfer, charge trapping at interface states, thermal carrier generation and impact ionization at the interface, will be discussed. Experiments and calculations are presented to model these phenomena.

Physics of Multiple-Charged Stored Ions
Physica Scripta, 1983The implementation of the ion-storage technique for the investigation of charge-exchange processes between multiple-charged ions and neutral atoms or molecules is described. The advantages and restrictions are discussed by the example of measurements on doubly and triply charged ions reacting with a neutral gas target or an atomic hydrogen beam.

Physical aspects of charge transfer theory
Chemical Physics, 1980Abstract The possible shapes of the ground ( U I ) and first excited ( U II ) adiabatic potentials are discussed in connection with the electron transfer problem. If U I has two minima the electron transfer process is adiabatic, regardless of the value of the gap 2Γ between U I and U II ; the transfer rate W has the form W = B exp(− E

Physics. Charging atoms, one by one.
Science (New York, N.Y.), 2004The scanning tunneling microscope (STM) made it possible to manipulate atoms and move them around. Now researchers are discovering how to alter the chemical properties of individual atoms. In his Perspective, Horn discusses results reported in the same issue by Repp et al.

The Physics of Charged-Particle Beams
Physics Bulletin, 1978J D Lawson London: Clarendon/Oxford University Press 1977 pp xxi + 462 price £16.50 The practical applications of charged particle beams become increasingly wide and varied. This book presents a general discussion of effects, such as beam focusing, self–fields, collisions, and interaction with finitely conducting walls, which are important to most beam

Physical theory of charged pigment electrophotography
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1972A formal approach to the theory of electrophotography is introduced in which imaging systems are defined and classified according to the dominant physical interactions responsible for the imaging process. The usefulness of the approach lies in the fact that it provides a powerful means of comparative analysis as well as ideal standards against which ...
