OF CHARGED STARS AND CHARGED BLACK HOLES

International Journal of Modern Physics D, 2004
Effect of maximum amount of charge a compact star can hold, is studied here. We analyze the different features in the renewed stellar structure and discuss the reasons why such huge charge is possible inside a compact star. We studied a particular case of a polytropic equation of state (EOS) assuming the charge density is proportional to the mass ...

A review of strategic charging–discharging control of grid-connected electric vehicles

Journal of Energy Storage, 2020
Charging–discharging coordination between electric vehicles and the power grid is gaining interest as a de-carbonization tool and provider of ancillary services.

Charging Back, Charging Out, Charging Fees

The Bottom Line, 1991
How do librarians charge back, charge out, and charge fees rather than have the cost of their operations totally accounted for as overhead expense? There is no one‐size‐fits‐all method of managing these finances; what you will do depends on your organization's goals and situation.

Energetics of charge–charge interactions in proteins

Proteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, 1988
AbstractElectrostatic interactions between pairs of atoms in proteins are calculated with a model based on the linearized Poisson‐Boltzmann equation. The equation is solved accurately by a method that takes into account the detailed shape of the protein. This paper presents applications to several systems.

Challenges and opportunities toward fast-charging of lithium-ion batteries

, 2020
Improving the rate capability of lithium-ion batteries is beneficial to the convenience of electric vehicle application. The high-rate charging, however, leads to lithium inventory loss, mechanical effects and even thermal runaway. Therefore, the optimal

Charge decay and space charge in corona-charged LDPE

Proceedings. 11th International Symposium on Electrets, 2003
The surface charge decay and space charge distribution in corona-charged low-density polyethylene (LDPE) were investigated. The space charge distribution was measured at 30/spl deg/C with the pulsed electro-acoustic (PEA) method, where a corona charged specimen was set between a semiconductive electrode and an Al electrode.

Why Are Proteins Charged? Networks of Charge–Charge Interactions in Proteins Measured by Charge Ladders and Capillary Electrophoresis

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2006
AbstractAlmost all proteins contain charged amino acids. While the function in catalysis or binding of individual charges in the active site can often be identified, it is less clear how to assign function to charges beyond this region. Are they necessary for solubility? For reasons other than solubility?

CHARGE Association

Pediatrics, 1982
Bartoshesky et al1 reported a male infant with bilateral ocular coloboma, complex cardiac malformations, hypoplastic genitalia, unilateral microtia with an incompletely formed helix, facial asymmetry, and bilateral cleft lip and palate. They ascribed the etiology of the malformations to in utero diphenylhydantoin exposure.
