Charge-Collection Efficiency in Back-Illuminated Charge-Coupled Devices [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Applied, 2021
Low noise CCDs fully-depleted up to 675 micrometers have been identified as a unique tool for Dark Matter searches and low energy neutrino physics. The charge collection efficiency (CCE) for these detectors is a critical parameter for the performance of future experiments.

Efficient algorithms for Hirshfeld-I charges

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2015
A new viewpoint on iterative Hirshfeld charges is presented, whereby the atomic populations obtained from such a scheme are interpreted as such populations which reproduce themselves. This viewpoint yields a self-consistent requirement for the Hirshfeld-I populations rather than being understood as the result of an iterative procedure.
