The effects of prematurity and socioeconomic deprivation on early speech perception: A story of two different delays

This longitudinal study investigated early speech perception in full and preterm infants from families classed as high or low SES. The results showed that early phonological development is already affected by preterm birth and SES, but these factors have different effects on each phonological subcomponent.
