Extent and biomass of the aquatic chariphytes and mosses in Lake Sevan [Translation from: Rasprostranenie i biomassa kharovykh vodoroslei i mkha v os. Sevan, 1951] [PDF]
This study focusses on the plants in the open parts of the lake - mostly aquatic charophytes and mosses, in what are called in Lake Sevan (Armenia), the ”zones of chara and moss”. Distribution and other ecological conditions are reviewed.

Sedimentary macrofossil records reveal ecological change in English lakes: implications for conservation [PDF]
Aquatic macrophytes play a key role in providing habitat, refuge and food for a range of biota in shallow lakes. However, many shallow lakes have experienced declines in macrophyte vegetation in recent decades, principally due to eutrophication.

Auxin response and PIN‐mediated transport in chlorophyte algae
Like multicellular plants, green algae respond to auxin and move it across their cells. However, their PIN‐like proteins do not act like plant auxin exporters, suggesting that basic auxin transport evolved early and specialized directional transport appeared later in plant evolution.

Charophyte stoichiometry in temperate waters
In recent years, little scrutiny has been devoted to charophytes with regard to carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus contents, their ratios and the factors controlling them. Data from published literature, and our own unpublished data, will be used along with environmental data to depict overall statistical distributions and controlling factors of ...
