On the occurrence of regenerative chatter vibrations.
Cutting forces and deflections of a workpiece are measured from the start of cutting operations and one of the important physical causes of regenerative chatter is found to be a small change of the cutting force that necessarily exists, even in a stable cutting condition.

Chatter milling modeling of active magnetic bearing spindle in high-speed domain [PDF]
A new dynamical modeling of Active Magnetic Bearing Spindle (AMBS) to identify machining stability of High Speed Milling (HSM) is presented. This original modeling includes all the minimum required parameters for stability analysis of AMBS machining. The

A New Auto‐Tuned Velocity Estimator Design for Mechatronic Systems
Our proposed velocity estimator formulation does not require accurate knowledge of dynamical modelling terms, making it robust to uncertainties and parameter variations. Unlike traditional observers with manually adjusted gains, our estimator incorporates novel adaptive update rules that automatically adjust the gains based on real‐time system ...

Design of Chatter-Resistant Damped Boring Bars Using a Receptance Coupling Approach
Deep hole boring using slender bars that have tuned mass dampers integrated within them make the boring process chatter vibration resistant. Dampers are usually designed using classical analytical solutions that presume the (un)damped boring bar which ...

Effect analysis of bearing and interface dynamics on tool point FRF for chatter stability in machine tools by using a new analytical model for spindle-tool assemblies [PDF]
Self-excited vibration of the tool, regenerative chatter, can be predicted and eliminated if the stability lobe diagram of the spindle–holder–tool assembly is known.

Damping Compensation for Active Vibration Isolation System With Active Disturbance Rejection Control
The analysis of classic active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) for active vibration isolation systems (AVIS) with electromagnetic actuators demonstrates that directly applying ADRC to these systems has some shortcomings. To overcome the limitations of classic ADRC in AVIS with electromagnetic actuators, damping compensation is proposed to enhance ...
