Assessing Soil and Management Quality Indexes in A Rural Watershed Under Long‐Term No‐Tillage in Southern Brazil

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, Volume 37, Issue 14, Page 10217-10231, 30 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Soil quality assessment is essential to detect management failures and prevent land degradation in agricultural systems. No‐tillage system (NTS) is a conservation management widely adopted in Brazil, but its effectiveness is compromised when adherence to the core principles of crop rotation and ground cover is not complete, and basic ...

Diet of bird‐like troodontid dinosaurs: synthesis of a contentious clade

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 4, Page 1760-1778, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Troodontidae is a clade of small‐to medium‐sized maniraptoran theropods that mainly lived in Laurasia (modern Asia, North America and Europe) during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods and are believed to have had a variety of diets. The uniqueness of troodontid teeth suggests that they diverged from the typical flesh‐based diet of non‐avian ...

Drivers of Stopover Distribution Across Two Autumn Migration Routes of a Long‐Distance Afro‐Palearctic Migrant, the Common Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
We model autumn stopover distribution of UK common cuckoos across two migration routes, revealing distinct environmental drivers and key geographic hotspots. Iberian mountain systems and the Po watershed emerge as critical stopover regions, with climate, elevation, habitat heterogeneity, and hunting risk shaping route‐specific patterns.

Mutualism and Antagonism in a Post‐Extinction Hawaiian Bird–Lobelioid Pollination System

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
Species loss can restructure plant–pollinator interactions, but the functional consequences of altered interactions remain unclear. Using camera observations and experimental manipulations in Hawaiian lobelioids, we show that nectarivorous birds differ in whether visits result in pollen contact or nectar robbing, with robbing altering nectar dynamics ...

Depression Improvement Correlates With Lower TMS Intensity in a Randomized Trial With Real‐Time E‐Field Modeling

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 11, 01 August 2026.
We used E‐Field modeling to compare two TMS dosing paradigms for treating depression at the left DLPFC: real‐time E‐Field guidance (motor‐equivalent targeting) versus conventional 120% motor threshold. Lower DLPFC E‐Field strengths were associated with better clinical outcomes.
