A numerical solution of time-fractional coupled Korteweg-de Vries equation by using spectral collection method

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2018
In this paper, we present a numerical method proficient for solving a system of time–fractional partial differential equations. For this sake, we use spectral collection method based on shifted Chebyshev polynomials in space and finite difference method ...

Image and video analysis using graph neural network for Internet of Medical Things and computer vision applications

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Graph neural networks (GNNs) have revolutionised the processing of information by facilitating the transmission of messages between graph nodes. Graph neural networks operate on graph‐structured data, which makes them suitable for a wide variety of computer vision problems, such as link prediction, node classification, and graph classification.

Approximate solutions of a singular integral equation with Cauchy kernels in the quarter plane [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2008
In the paper, we present explicit formulae for the solution of the singular integral equation with Cauchy kernels in the quarter plane. Next, Jacobi and Chebyshev polynomials are used to derive approximate solutions of this equation.

Unconditional Variance Estimation Under Complex Surveys

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary The unconditional framework treats the samples and the variables of interest as random variables. This is particularly suitable with analytic inference, when modelling survey data. We show that variance estimation does not involve finite population corrections and joint‐inclusion probabilities, even with large sampling fractions and under ...

Finding a mix of renewable energy for different stakeholders by applying multi‐criteria decision‐making techniques

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents a two‐stage model for planning a renewable energy portfolio by balancing economic, social and environmental sustainability goals. The first stage addresses a multi‐objective problem where conflictive impacts generated by the energy portfolios should be optimised according to the corresponding economic, social or ...

Lines on the surface in the quasi-hiperbolic space 11^S1/3

open access: yesДифференциальная геометрия многообразий фигур, 2020
Quasi-hyperbolic spaces are projective spaces with decaying absolute. This work is a continuation of the author's work [7], in which surfaces in one of these spaces are examined by methods of external forms and a moving frame.

Monetary Policy When Preferences Are Quasi‐Hyperbolic

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract We study discretionary monetary policy in an economy where economic agents have quasi‐hyperbolic discounting. We demonstrate that a benevolent central bank is able to keep inflation under control for a wide range of discount factors. If the central bank, however, does not adopt the household's time preferences and tries to discourage early ...

Differential Nap‐To‐Nap Stability of Sleep Spindles, Slow Waves, and their Temporal Coupling: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Slow waves and sleep spindles characterise non‐rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep and support cognitive and plasticity‐related functions. While their stability across nights is well established, less is known about their consistency across daytime naps.

Approximate solutions of a sum-type fractional integro-differential equation by using Chebyshev and Legendre polynomials

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the existence of solutions for a sum-type fractional integro-differential problem via the Caputo differentiation. By using the shifted Legendre and Chebyshev polynomials, we provide a numerical method for finding solutions for the problem.
