Chebyshev filter and Butterworth filters: Comparison and applications in different cases
This study focuses on the filter selection problem in signal processing and wireless communication applications. Specifically, addressed two different filter selection problems: the Chebyshev filter and the Butterworth filter.

Introducing PHAEDRA: a new spectral code for simulations of relativistic magnetospheres [PDF]
We describe a new scheme for evolving the equations of force-free electrodynamics, the vanishing-inertia limit of magnetohydrodynamics. This pseudospectral code uses global orthogonal basis function expansions to take accurate spatial derivatives ...

Chained-Function Filter Synthesis Based on the Modified Jacobi Polynomials [PDF]
A new class of filter functions with pass-band ripple which derives its origin from a method of determining the chained function lowpass filters described by Guglielmi and Connor is introduced.

Strong Proton‐Phonon Coupling Drives Fast Ion Transport in Perovskites
Experimental and computational phonon analysis of ABO3‐type proton conductor BaSnO3 shows that substitution on the B‐site with yttrium forms an imaginary phonon mode which is instrumental for the function as proton conductor. This overcompensates the adverse proton trapping effect of the yttrium.

Coefficients Calculation in Pascal Approximation for Passive Filter Design
The recently modified Pascal function is further exploited in this paper in the design of passive analog filters. The Pascal approximation has non-equiripple magnitude, in contrast of the most well-known approximations, such as the Chebyshev ...

Detection of Edges in Spectral Data II. Nonlinear Enhancement [PDF]
We discuss a general framework for recovering edges in piecewise smooth functions with finitely many jump discontinuities, where $[f](x):=f(x+)-f(x-) \neq 0$. Our approach is based on two main aspects--localization using appropriate concentration kernels

Strain analysis of black‐to‐yellow phase transitions in CsPbI3
All‐inorganic metal‐halide perovskite CsPbI3 shows strong potential for photovoltaic applications. Here strain analysis is used to probe the mechanisms behind the instability of its photoactive black phase. The results indicate that a relatively large positive (e1–e2) strain is the primary driver of the black‐to‐yellow phase transition.

On the β$$ \beta $$‐effect in the baroclinic instability of a continuously stratified atmosphere
We solve the quasi‐geostrophic equation numerically to analyze baroclinic instability in a continuously stratified atmosphere. On the β$$ \beta $$‐plane, deviations from classical models alter instability growth rates and modal structures, leading to the emergence of unstable lobes and a stable region at very large wavelengths.

Coaxial Low-Pass Filter Design and Manufacture
In this study, a low-pass filter with coaxial transmission lines is designed and produced. The objective for designing a coaxial low-pass filter was to utilize both low-loss transmission and high breakdown voltage capability for high power microwave ...
