Solar cheilitis is a pre malignant lesion seen predominantly on the vermilion of the lower lip in light‐complexioned, middle‐aged men who have spent considerable time outdoors. The lesions most likely to be dysplastic or neoplastic are those with heavy keratinization, erosion, ulceration, and erythema. Lips with any of these changes should be biopsied.
