HEARING IN THE GIANT SEA TURTLE, Chelonia mydas [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1969
Measurement were made of the cochlear potentials in three specimens of the giant sea turtle, Chelonia mydas , in response to both aerial and mechanical stimulation of the ear. The results show maximum sensitivity in the region of 300 to 400 Hz, with a rather rapid decline in sensitivity for lower and especially for ...

Correlation of Hypoxia and Pro-senescence Protein Expression in Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) Lung Epithelial and Dermal Fibroblast Cell Culture

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical and Fundamental Sciences, 2018
Recent studies have shown hypoxia-induced gene expression correlated with cellular senescence. HIF-1α (hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha), p53, and pRB were induced under hypoxia and correlated with cellular senescence.
