Investigations into the effects of volatile biomass tar on the performance of Fe-based CLC oxygen carrier materials

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2016
In this study we present findings from investigations into interactions between biomass tar and two iron based oxygen carrier materials (OCMs) designed for chemical-looping applications: a 100% Fe _2 O _3 (100Fe) OCM and a 60 wt% Fe _2 O _3 /40 wt% Al _2

Advancements in CO2 Capture Technologies: A Review of Amine Absorption and Alternative Methods for Post‐Combustion Integration

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Carbon capture technologies are poised to become one of the primary focuses regarding the achievement of net‐zero emissions by the year 2050. In these technologies, particular attention is given to post‐combustion CO2 capture, which is more easily implemented at existing power stations and other industries.

Mercury Adsorption and Oxidation Performance of an Iron-Based Oxygen Carrier during Coal Chemical Looping Process

open access: yesMolecules
During chemical looping combustion (CLC) and chemical looping gasification (CLG) of coal, the release, migration, and speciation of mercury in coal are significantly influenced by oxygen-carrier materials; however, the underlying mechanism remains ...

Synergetic Combination of Carbon Xerogels, Graphene Oxide and nano‐ZnO for Aqueous and Organic Supercapacitors

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
This work proposes the synthesis of carbon‐based nanostructured materials obtained using ZnO as both nanos‐ template and catalysts simultaneously. During the synthesis, GO was used as a stabiliser, preventing the collapse of the 3D structure and improving its properties in terms of capacitance and surface area.
