Synergetic Combination of Carbon Xerogels, Graphene Oxide and nano‐ZnO for Aqueous and Organic Supercapacitors

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
This work proposes the synthesis of carbon‐based nanostructured materials obtained using ZnO as both nanos‐ template and catalysts simultaneously. During the synthesis, GO was used as a stabiliser, preventing the collapse of the 3D structure and improving its properties in terms of capacitance and surface area.

Computational particle fluid dynamics simulation of gas–solid flow in a 3 MWth dual-circulation fluidized bed for chemical looping process

open access: yesCarbon Resources Conversion
Regulation of gas–solid flow is crucial for optimizing the operation efficiency of dual-circulating fluidized beds that are considered to be the most appropriate type of chemical-looping reactors.

Combined effect of increasing the post‐reformer temperature and adding red mud as a secondary catalyst in the thermocatalytic reforming of digestate

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract This work studies the combined effect of increasing the post‐reformer temperature and introducing red mud as a support catalyst in the thermocatalytic reforming (TCR®) of digestate. The TCR® method, developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT (abbreviated as Fraunhofer UMSICHT), is an extension

Techno‐economic and environmental assessment of a hybrid renewable energy system for a date molasses factory in Iraq using HOMER Pro

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Iraq currently faces a significant electricity deficit estimated at approximately 18 000 MW, resulting in frequent and sometimes prolonged power outages that disrupt both economic activities and social life. The widening gap between energy supply and demand, combined with environmental concerns associated with fossil fuel consumption ...

Effects of mineralogical composition into the reactivity of calcinated ilmenite for chemical looping technologies

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Ilmenite is one of the most promising oxygen carriers (OC) for chemical looping combustion (CLC) on a large scale. However, ilmenite samples from distinct mines submitted to diverse mineral processing procedures do not have homogeneous physicochemical ...
