Materials for chemical-looping combustion
Chemical-looping combustion (CLC) is a combustion technology with inherent separation of the greenhouse gas CO2. Two inter-connected fluidized beds, a fuel reactor and an air reactor, are used. The fuel is oxidized by the metal oxide in the fuel reactor,

Chemical-looping combustion of biomass in a 100 kW pilot
Chemical-looping combustion (CLC) is an innovative carbon-capture technology with potential to drastically reduce the cost of capture. By using a circulating bed material to transfer oxygen from the combustion air to the fuel, air and fuel are never ...

A study of Ni‐Co/CeO2 catalyst derived from metal–organic framework for dry reforming of methane
Abstract The efficacy of cobalt‐doped, MOF‐derived catalysts for dry reforming of methane (DRM) was examined. The focus was on the influence of varying nickel and cobalt molar ratios on catalytic performance. Three catalysts with Ni:Co ratios of 1:1, 1:0.5, and 0.5:1, were synthesized and tested with cerium oxide as a constant support. The DRM reaction

Abstract Carbon dioxide‐reduced hydrogen can be synthesized through various methods such as dry‐reforming (DRM), steam reforming (SMR), and partial oxidation (POX). Tri‐reforming of methane (TRM) is a promising technology which combines all the above‐mentioned processes for the simultaneous production of hydrogen and syngas with high energy efficiency.

Abstract NOx emissions from gas boilers severely impact the environment, and flue gas recirculation (FGR) technology can effectively reduce such emissions, yet the effects of different FGR rates on combustion performance and NOx formation remain unclear. This study thus used numerical simulation (via ANSYS Fluent, adopting the realizable k‐ε turbulence

Comparison of PSA and amine‐based absorption for syngas purification shows that PSA offers lower energy intensity, global warming potential, and minimum selling price, making it a more sustainable option. However, absorption achieves higher syngas purity. A GREENSCOPE‐based multi‐criteria assessment guides optimal process selection.

Left: Desulphurization method application. Right: Novel desulphurization method. Abstract The presence of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in biogas poses significant environmental and operational challenges due to its corrosive and toxic properties. Thus, this study aimed to develop a dual‐function desulphurization system using a cation exchange resin (CIER ...

Abstract This study proposes a novel, green, and sustainable method for synthesizing magnetic iron oxides from metallurgical copper slag (CS), leveraging its iron content as a valuable resource. Iron was extracted via acid leaching using edible citric acid (ECA), forming a citrate–iron complex (CSL), which was subsequently thermally decomposed at 300°C
