Construction of ZnO/PCL Antibacterial Coating Potentially for Dental Unit Waterlines

open access: yesJournal of Functional Biomaterials, 2023
The formation of bacterial biofilms and the contamination of treatment water within dental unit waterlines can lead to a risk of secondary bacterial infections in immunocompromised patients. Although chemical disinfectants can reduce the contamination of

Detection of bacterial contamination in starch and resin-based papermaking chemicals using fluorescence techniques

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology, 2003
Rapid fluorescence techniques were evaluated for the detection of bacterial contaminants in papermaking chemicals including starch and the resin-based sizes and starch slurries used in the paper industry. Viable and non-viable bacterial cells were visualised by fluorescent probes and detected by epifluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry.
