Carbon dioxide (CO2), heat, and chemical lure (1-octen-3-ol and L-lactic acid) were tested as attractants for bed bugs, Cimex lectularius L. (Heteroptera: Cimicidae), by using pitfall traps. Both CO2 and heat were attractive to bed bugs. CO2 was significantly more attractive to bed bugs than heat. Traps baited with chemical lure attracted more bed bugs

Catches of target and non-target scarab pests in floral-chemical baited color traps in Bulgaria
Acta Phytopathologica et Entomologica Hungarica, 2013Field investigations with CSALOMON® floral-chemical baited color traps for scarab beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidoidaea) were organized in eight sites in different regions in Bulgaria during 2009–2010. As a result data about distribution and seasonal flight were obtained for the target species Cetonia aurata L.

The red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Olivier (Coleoptera, Curculionidae), is one of the most severe pests of ornamental palm species in urban areas of Mediterranean countries. Aiming to discover inhibitory semiochemicals for RPW population management in urban environments, we conducted electroantennographic (EAG) screenings of 17 ...

Bioconjugate Chemistry, 2011
A novel linker chemistry based on a malondialdehyde-indole condensation reaction has been developed for the affinity-independent elution of targeted protein pull-downs. Previously developed in our lab for the tagging of tryptophan residues on proteins or peptides, the concept was extended for the design of a chemically cleavable linker system.

By attracting male euglossine bees with cineole, eugenol, methyl salicylate, methyl cinnamate, and benzyl acetate in Costa Rican lowland deciduous forest and rain forest, we found no indication of change in the composition and numbers of rain forest attractable bee species during different seasons, but within the deciduous forest both abundance and ...

Sex attractant chemicals, isolated from one gender of a particular insect species, were formulated and used as bait to lure insects to the electronic detector devices installed at sites in field conditions. The electronic detector and control circuits were designed to regulate digital counters or to trigger a radio telemetry signal when a target insect
