Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Revisiting the concept of extents for chemical reaction systems using an enthalpy balance

open access: yes
For the investigation of complex reaction systems, it has been proposed to decouple the various rate processes using a linear time-invariant transformation that is constructed from knowledge of stoichiometry, reaction enthalpies, inlet compositions and ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Fine particles composition and emission chemical profiles from sugarcane production for source reconciliation applying the Chemical Mass Balance

open access: yes
Every year, many tons of fine particles are emitted to the atmosphere due to the sugarcane-mills operation and for inadequate agricultural practices such as sugarcane burning.

Chemical synthesis of nanoparticles and electrohydrodynamic manipulation of nanoparticulate suspensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This research concerns the study of nanoparticle synthesis methods and the influence that nanoparticles can have on the physical and electrical properties of non-polar fluids.

Investigating Relationships between the Crystal Structure and 31P Isotropic Chemical Shifts in Calcined Aluminophosphates

open access: yes, 2014
Solid-state NMR spectra have historically been assigned using simple relationships between NMR parameters, e.g., the isotropic chemical shift, and aspects of the local structure of the material in question, e.g., bond angles or lengths.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
