ADDITIVE LASER BARCODE PRINTING ON HIGH REFLECTIVE STAINLESS STEEL

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2020
In this paper, the process of an additive laser marking on stainless steel parts for barcode printing is presented. It is based on the use of one transition metal oxide chemically-well bonded to the stainless steel substrate, without a usage of any ...

Fabrication of wafer-level thermocompression bonding

open access: yes, 2002
Thermocompression bonding of gold is a promising technique for achieving low temperature, wafer-level bonding. The fabrication process for wafer bonding at 300ºC via compressing gold under 7 MPa of pressure is described in detail.

Chemical Bonding in Zeolites

open access: yes, 1992
A review is given with 28 refs. on the current status of chem. bonding of zeolites and AlPO's. Short range covalent bonding dominates, the tetrahedra have to be considered relatively rigid and the Si-O-Si bond angle flexible. Differences in energy of the SiO2 or AlPO4 polymorphs are small.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Charge-Shift Bonding in Xenon Hydrides: An NBO/NRT Investigation on HXeY···HX (Y = Cl, Br, I; X = OH, Cl, Br, I, CCH, CN) via H-Xe Blue-Shift Phenomena

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2020
Noble-gas bonding represents curiosity. Some xenon hydrides, such as HXeY (Y = Cl, Br, I) and their hydrogen-bonded complexes HXeY···HX (Y = Cl, Br, I; X = OH, Cl, Br, I, CN, CCH), have been identified in matrixes by observing H-Xe frequencies or its ...

The Surface Chemical Bond

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1977
AbstractAdsorbed particles can be bound chemically to the surface of a solid (chemisorption). Modern variants of electron diffraction and electron spectroscopy now enable us to gain an insight into the nature of such surface chemical bonds, which play a key role in heterogenous catalysis and many other technically important phenomena such as adhesion ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...
