Nanoscale Mapping of Plasmonic Charge Transport in Nano‐Resonators Based on Resistive Switching Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this strategy, a conductive nano‐probe is employed to induce nanoscale phase transitions and map the nanoscale conductivity and trap density of GST films. By utilizing the contrasting properties of phase‐change states, nano‐resonators are fabricated that exhibit plasmonic conduction and dramatically different transport characteristics.

Domestic Dog Scent Marks Trigger a Behavioural Response in Wild Wolves

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
The European grey wolf (Canis lupus) and domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris) share not only a common origin but also many similarities in behaviour. Due to the introduction of legal protection, wolves have recolonised large parts of Europe.

Aphid-Ant Relationships: The Role of Cuticular Hydrocarbons and Different Chemical Stimuli in Triggering Mutualistic Behavior

open access: yesAgriculture
In ant-aphid interactions, various aphid species offer honeydew to the ant partner and increase their density by ant attendance, whilst others never attend ant species, in which case ants tend to treat them as prey.

Cardiac‐Derived ECM Microspheres for Enhanced hiPSC‐CMs Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cardiac extracellular matrix microspheres derived from decellularized porcine heart provide a biomimetic 3D microenvironment for human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC‐CMs). This platform supports short‐ and long‐term culture, enhances structural organization, and promotes electrophysiological and functional maturation of ...

The Secret of Secrets: Carbonic Anhydrase Concentration in Lizards' Femoral Gland Secretions Is Tuned to Environmental Conditions

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Among the modalities of animal communication, the chemical channel is the only one that allows signalers and receivers to communicate without being necessarily in the same place at the same time.
