Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Pseudocapacitive performance of cobaltite and nickel cobaltite electrodes fabricated by layer-by-layer chemical deposition method [PDF]
The development of efficient strategies for fabricating binder-free electrodes to electrochemical energy storage applications is of interest. Here, a novel approach of layer-by-layer chemical deposition was proposed for the preparation of binderless ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Chemical Vapour Deposition [PDF]
This book aims to give a comprehensive overview of Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). CVD involves the deposition of thin solid films from chemical precursors in the vapour phase, and encompasses various deposition techniques, including metal-organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD), plasma-enhanced CVD (PECVD), photo-initiated CVD and atomic layer ...
