Modified graphene as novel lubricating additive with high dispersion stability in oil

open access: yesFriction, 2020
Graphene is a promising material as a lubricant additive for reducing friction and wear. Here, a dispersing method which combines chemical modification of graphene by octadecylamine and dicyclohexylcarbodiimide with a kind of effective dispersant has ...

Potentialities of the sol-gel route to develop cathode and electrolyte thick layers Application to SOFC systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this work, we report the potential of sol–gel process to prepare cathode and electrolyte thin and thick layers on anodic NiO-YSZ supports which were also made from powders prepared by sol–gel route.

Estimating the Usefulness of Chemical Dispersant to Treat Surface Spills of Oil Sands Products

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2018
This study examines the use of chemical dispersant to treat an oil spill after the initial release. The natural and chemically enhanced dispersion of four oil products (dilbit, dilynbit, synbit and conventional crude) were investigated in a wave tank ...

High‐Efficiency CO2 Electrolysis Enabled by Interface‐Engineered Composite Electrolytes in Ni‐Based SOEC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study addresses the critical issue of delamination between YSZ and GDC electrolytes in SOECs, which is caused by Thermal deformation disparity. A novel YSZ‐GDC composite interlayer, fabricated using a simple dip‐coating method, is introduced to solve this problem. This layer effectively suppresses delamination by mitigating thermal stress.

Hydraulic conductivity of a dense prehydrated GCL: impact of free swell and swelling pressure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Exposure to liquids with high electrolyte concentrations or high cation valence present in landfill leachates can cause significant increases in hydraulic conductivity of clays due to a reduction in the thickness of the double layer.
