Responsibility modelling for civil emergency planning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents a new approach to analysing and understanding civil emergency planning based on the notion of responsibility modelling combined with HAZOPS-style analysis of information requirements. Our goal is to represent complex contingency plans

Effect of nanoparticles and polymer nanoparticles implementation on chemical flooding, wettability and interfacial tension for the enhanced oil recovery processes

open access: yes, 2017
The nanotechnology has been widely used in several other industries, and the interest in oil industry is increasing. Nanotechnology has the potential to profoundly change enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and improve the mechanism of recovery, and it is chosen

Microwave‐Assisted Aqueous Synthesis of Gelatin‐Norbornene for Hydrogel Crosslinking and Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A microwave‐assisted reaction is utilized to synthesize gelatin‐norbornene (GelNB), achieving a high degree of norbornene functionalization while reducing the macromer's upper critical solution temperature. The resulting GelNB macromer has high solubility at room temperature, facilitating light‐based 3‐dimensional (3D) printing of thiol‐norbornene ...

The survey of removal of suspended solids from river at flooding period by plain sedimentation process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The most important of surface sources of water in the large city are rivers. The turbidity and flow rate of rivers is a constantly changing phenomenon in the seasons from year.

Versatile Gasochromic Hydrogen Detection via Supraparticle‐Based Applied Composite Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Silica‐platinum‐resazurin supraparticles are embedded into PMMA to form suprabeads and thin films. The thereby obtained indicators change color from purple to pink to colorless on hydrogen exposure. The indicator systems are tested under various environmental conditions, and their performance is related to their microscopically visualized structure ...

Polymer Properties Determination For Designing Chemical Flooding

open access: yesScientific Contributions Oil and Gas, 2022
Waterflooding became the standard practice in many reservoirs formation in petroleum industries, the strengths and weaknesses of the methods were quite well established. In particular, the inefficiency of the waterflood oil displacement mechanism as a result of either an unfavorable mobility ratio or heterogeneity was largely identified.

Multimodal Locomotion in Insect‐Inspired Microrobots: A Review of Strategies for Aerial, Surface, Aquatic, and Interfacial Motion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This review identifies key design considerations for insect‐inspired microrobots capable of multimodal locomotion. To draw inspiration, biological and robotic strategies for moving in air, on water surfaces, and underwater are examined, along with approaches for crossing the air–water interface.

New method for quantitatively characterizing emulsifying ability of oil displacement agents

open access: yesYouqi dizhi yu caishoulu
The emulsifying ability of oil displacement agents plays a crucial role in the chemical flooding process, but the quantitative characterization of emulsifying ability remains unsolved.

Enhanced oil recovery by alkaline-surfactant-alternated-gas/CO2 flooding

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2018
The volumetric sweep efficiencies of CO2 flooding for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) are generally low due to problems of viscous fingering and gravity override.

A Mussel‐Inspired Bioadhesive Patch to Selectively Kill Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An innovative mussel‐inspired bioadhesive patch has been developed for post‐surgical glioblastoma treatment. The patch, which adheres strongly in biological environments, releases a localized treatment. This treatment, acting via reactive oxygen species, shows specific toxicity to glioblastoma cells.
