Global and Detailed Calculation of Tube Wall Temperature in a Process Furnace Steam Superheater
This study presents a comparison between an iterative global model and multiple approaches to a new non‐iterative model with the purpose of predicting tube wall temperature of a superheater. The results show that the non‐iterative method achieves sufficient accuracy while improving the prediction of local temperature distribution and better ...

CarboLoop: a novel concept of looping combustion of carbon
A novel concept of looping combustion/partial oxidation of carbon is presented. The underlying concept is the recognition of the feature of most carbons to extensively uptake oxygen upon exposure to air at moderate temperatures and to release surface ...

First Operation Results of a Methanol Demonstration Plant With Real Steel Mill Gases
A demonstration plant with industrial setup regarding length, diameter, boiling water cooling system and gas recycle was initially operated with cleaned blast furnace gas and compared with earlier experiments with bottle gases. Dynamic disturbances from the steel mill and gas cleaning unit were noticed and could be compensated by the control system ...

Chemical Looping Combustion of Rice Husk [PDF]
A thermodynamic investigation of direct chemical looping combustion (CLC) of rice husk is presented in this paper. Both steam and CO2 are used for gasification within the temperature range of 500–1200˚C and different amounts of oxygen carriers.

Prospective LCA of E‐Methanol Along the Transformation of Steel Industry
The environmental effects of change in steel production route on e‐methanol production are analyzed as they shift from blast furnace route to direct reduction route. Specific hydrogen demand reduces, as do the avoided CO2 emissions. E‐methanol's overall carbon footprint stays in a narrow range of −1 to −1.1 kg‐CO2‐eq./kg‐methanol.

Materials for chemical-looping combustion
Chemical-looping combustion (CLC) is a combustion technology with inherent separation of the greenhouse gas CO2. Two inter-connected fluidized beds, a fuel reactor and an air reactor, are used. The fuel is oxidized by the metal oxide in the fuel reactor,
