Periodic (Liesegang) Precipitation of Chemicals
Nature, 1963LIESEGANG'S periodic precipitation of inorganic chemicals1 has yet to be explained adequately, possibly because experiments in gathering data to describe it have failed to recognize and control numerous complicating effects influencing it. Some of these are illustrated in the work reported here.

Precipitation in star sapphire III. Chemical effects accompanying precipitation
Philosophical Magazine A, 1980Abstract Large prismatic dislocation loops, of interstitial character and with 1/3 〈1011〉 Burgers vectors are observed to lie on basal planes in the sapphire matrix around rutile needle precipitates in star sapphire. The loops climb away from the precipitate-matrix interface during ageing, and contain the material that has ‘plated out’ during ...

Chemical Control of Struvite Precipitation
Journal of Environmental Engineering, 2003The control of struvite precipitation was investigated using a range of chemical inhibitors and chelating agents. Initial experiments investigated the mass of struvite that precipitated on jar tester impellers used to mix anaerobically digested sludge liquors. Mixing the liquors resulted in degassing of CO2 increasing the pH from below 7 to above 8. It

Copper precipitates in silicon: Precipitation, dissolution, and chemical state
Journal of Applied Physics, 2002The precipitation and dissolution of copper impurities at oxygen precipitates and stacking faults in silicon were studied using thermal budgets commensurate with standard integrated circuit processing. Additionally, in order to develop a better understanding of the dissolution process, we have obtained results on the chemical state of the copper ...

Sulfate removal from waste chemicals by precipitation
Journal of Environmental Management, 2009Chemical oxidation using Fenton's reagent has proven to be a viable alternative to the oxidative destruction of organic pollutants in mixed waste chemicals, but the sulfate concentration in the treated liquor was still above the acceptable limits for effluent discharge.

Fundamentals of Chemical Coagulation and Precipitation
2021Chemical treatment is considered as a useful tool for (a) pretreatment of harmful wastes, (b) early removal of undissolved precipitating substances, (c) reduction of load fluctuations, (d) combating bulking activated sludge, (e) polishing effluents, and (f) phosphorus removal. Chemical treatment as a rule means addition of chemicals. Such chemicals are
