Chemical Precipitation method for Sulphate Removal from Treated Wastewater of Al-Doura Refinery [PDF]
Wastewater treatment by Wastewater Treatment Plant, named (INGECO) in Doura refinery suffers from the elevated level of sulphate ion concentrations compared to the recommended EPA [14] specified (250 mg/L).

Phase-field modeling of two-dimensional solute precipitation/dissolution: Solid fingers and diffusion-limited precipitation [PDF]
Two-dimensional dendritic growth due to solute precipitation was simulated using a phase-field model reported earlier [Z. Xu and P. Meakin, J. Chem. Phys. 129, 014705 (2008)]. It was shown that diffusion-limited precipitation due to the chemical reaction at the solid-liquid interface posses similarities with diffusion-limited aggregation (DLA).

Reduction of Sulphates from Mining Waters and Old Mining Loads [PDF]
This article deals with the comparison of different methods of AMD desulphurisation. In experiments, the following chemicalmethods were used – precipitation using Ca (OH)2 and Al ions, sorption using different types of zeolites, activated charcoal ...

Encoding information into precipitation structures [PDF]
Material design at submicron scales would be profoundly affected if the formation of precipitation patterns could be easily controlled. It would allow the direct building of bulk structures, in contrast to traditional techniques which consist of removing material in order to create patterns. Here, we discuss an extension of our recent proposal of using

Vesicle computers: Approximating Voronoi diagram on Voronoi automata [PDF]
Irregular arrangements of vesicles filled with excitable and precipitating chemical systems are imitated by Voronoi automata --- finite-state machines defined on a planar Voronoi diagram. Every Voronoi cell takes four states: resting, excited, refractory and precipitate.

Leachates produced in the closed landfill Curva de Rodas in Medellin, Colombia are catalogued as mature leachates. These are characterized as poorly biodegradable waste containing organic compounds such as fulvic and humic acids, heavy metals, ammonia ...

In the long-term evolution process after the development of the water-conducting fractures in overburden, the self-healing phenomenon will occur, in which the water-conducting seepage capacity will gradually decrease. It is of great significance to study

Complex motion of precipitation bands [PDF]
Formation and dynamics of an Al(OH)_3 precipitation ring is studied by diffusing NaOH into a gel containing AlCl_3. Limited feeding of the outer electrolyte (NaOH) is found to yield an intricate ring-dynamics which involves stopping and reversal of the direction of motion of the precipitation ring, and evolution into stationary multi-ring structures. A

Phase-field modeling of solute precipitation and dissolution [PDF]
A phase-field approach to the dynamics of liquid-solid interfaces that evolve due to precipitation and/or dissolution is presented. For the purpose of illustration and comparison with other methods, phase field simulations were carried out assuming first order reaction (dissolution/precipitation) kinetics.
