Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Physical and chemical weathering rates and CO2 consumption in a tropical lateritic environment: the upper Niger basin [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The chemical composition of Niger river water measured bimonthly at Bamako Mali. during the period 1990–1992 provides an estimate of present weathering rates in the upper Niger basin.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Hydrochemical determination of source water contributions to Lake Lungo and Lake Ripasottile (central Italy) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Lake Lungo and Lake Ripasottile are two shallow (4-5 m) lakes located in the Rieti Basin, central Italy, that have been described previously as surface outcroppings of the groundwater table.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Recovery of Cobalt and Lithium from Spent Lithium Ion Batteries [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2017
In this research a combination of mechanical separation, reductive leaching and chemical precipitation are used to regain Li as Li2CO3 and Co as Co(OH)2 from waste lithium ion batteries.

CHEMICAL VAPOR PRECIPITATION OF SUBMICRON TITANIUM NITRIDE POWDER [PDF]

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique IV, 1991
The synthesis of submicron titanium nitride powder by Chemical Vapor Precipitation and the characteristics of primary particles are presented. The properties of the powder formed are of prime importance to the Particle Precipitation aided Chemical Vapor Deposition process.
