Paleomagnetism, rock magnetism and geochemical aspects of early Cretaceous basalts of the Paraná Magmatic Province, from Misiones, Argentina [PDF]
The basalts of the Posadas Formation were extruded during the huge continental volcanism that affected the Parana Basin in the Lower Cretaceous. We have carried out a paleomagnetic and rock-magnetic study on samples collected along a basalt outcrop ...

Magnetic Field‐Modulated Boolean Logic in Proteinoid‐ Fe3 O4 Hybrid Materials
Proteinoid‐Fe3O4${\rm Fe}_3{\rm O}_4$. nanoparticle composites exhibit spontaneous electrical oscillations that emulate Boolean logic gates (AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR, NOT) under magnetic field modulation. External fields of 65.103 mT tune oscillatory behavior: 84 mT enhances amplitude while 103 mT suppresses it.

Rock magnetic and geochemical evidence for authigenic magnetite formation via iron reduction in coal-bearing sediments offshore Shimokita Peninsula, Japan (IODP Site C0020) [PDF]
Sediments recovered at Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) Site C0020, in a fore‐arc basin offshore Shimokita Peninsula, Japan, include numerous coal beds (0.3–7 m thick) that are associated with a transition from a terrestrial to marine ...

Magnetization of the oceanic crust: TRM or CRM? [PDF]
A model was proposed in which chemical remanent magnetization (CRM) acquired within the first 20 Ma of crustal evolution may account for 80% of the bulk natural remanent magnetization (NRM) of older basalts.

Chemical Remanent Magnetization of Ferromagnetic Minerals and Its Application to Rock Magnetism
Experimental studies have been carried out on the remanent magnetization generated by chemical reactions (which may properly be called chemical remanent magnetization or C. R. M. in abbreviation) for both natural and synthetic specimens. Remanent magnetization generated during two kinds of reaction processes, that is, reduction of α-Fe2O3 to Fe3O4 and ...

Arsonic acid containing diblock copolymers are developed to incorporate arsonic acid moieties for surface anchoring to IONPs, along with water soluble PEG blocks to impart colloidal stability in aqueous environments. The resulting polymer‐coated IONPs are evaluated for stability in physiological media and cytocompatibility.

Effective collective barrier for magnetic relaxation in frozen ferrofluids
Magnetic relaxation and frequency response were measured in frozen ferrimagnetic colloids of different concentrations. A crossover from reversible to irreversible behavior is observed for concentrated colloids.
