Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Root-induced alterations of copper speciation in solution in the rhizosphere of crop species [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
As a prerequisite to establish trace metal phytoavailability, it is essential to determine trace metal speciation in the solution of the rhizosphere, where substantial alterations of physicalchemical properties (e.g.

Comparison of Chemical Soil Properties of Temperate Grassland and Arable Land—A Review

open access: yesSoil Systems
Chemical soil properties contribute to the resilience of soil ecosystems. Healthy soils with optimal nutrient levels, balanced pH and good organic matter content are better able to withstand environmental stresses, such as drought, disease or pests. When

Exploring the Potential of Zero‐Dimensional Carbon Nanomaterials in Photoluminescent, Electrochemiluminescent and Electrochemical Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials are presented as multifunctional platforms linking structure, property, and sensing performance. Surface engineering and heteroatom doping modulate electron‐transfer and luminescent behavior, enabling electrochemical, photoluminescent, and electrochemiluminescent detection. Fundamental design principles, analytical

PENGGUNAAN MULSA PLASTIK SEBAGAI UPAYA KONSERVASI LAHAN UNTUK MENJAGA STABILITAS SIFAT FISIKA DAN KIMIA TANAH

open access: yesJTSL (Jurnal Tanah dan Sumberdaya Lahan)
Low nutrient availability and high soil bulk density are caused by the loss of fertile soil particles due to the kinetic energy of rain. Land management that does not apply conservation principles such as soil covering is one of the factors causing this

Spatial and temporal variability of plant-available soil water in Congo Basin and its relationship with tree species distributions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Regional-scale patterns of tropical rainforest tree composition can be due to climate (rainfall, dry season length), geology and/or soil properties (chemical fertility, available water). In Amazonia, soil fertility and dry season length appears to be the

A Reusable Polymeric Sensor Based on Green‐Synthesized CQDs@ZIF‐8 for the Rapid Detection of Nitro‐Explosive Picric Acid

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study presents the rational design and synthesis of a highly luminescent polymeric nanocomposite. Initially, highly fluorescent carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method using citric acid and β‐alanine as precursors, followed by rigorous purification through centrifugation and filtration.

Physical and chemical properties of long-term salinized soils

open access: yesItalian Journal of Agronomy, 2006
In some areas, particularly in the Mediterranean regions, saline water is a source of water for crop irrigation. Consequently during the time, the use of this water may cause significant modifications of the soil physic-chemical properties and plant ...
