Chemical stability of orthodontic adhesives based on polymer network depending on external environment’s temperature

open access: yesPolimery, 2019
In the present study the authors assessed chemical stability of four light-cured orthodontic adhesives: Contec LC, Transbond XT, Transbond Plus, Resilience, with respect to temperature of the external environment.

Inkjet printed LED based pH chemical sensor for gas sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Predictable behaviour is a critical factor when developing a sensor for potential deployment within a wireless sensor network (WSN). The work presented here details the fabrication and performance of an optical chemical sensor for gaseous acetic acid ...

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Solid Dispersions of Fenbendazole with Polymers and Succinic Acid Obtained via Methods of Mechanochemistry: Their Chemical Stability and Anthelmintic Efficiency

open access: yesPowders, 2023
The substance fenbendazole is included in the composition of many anthelmintic drugs, in which the “chemical stability” parameter is one of the main characteristics when obtaining permission for the use of drugs in veterinary practice.

Improved reflective coating for integrating spheres [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
Inorganic salts or oxide material is transparent in single-crystal form, has high refractive index, smooth cleavage, and chemical stability, is stable to radiations of interest, partially soluble and easily dispersed in liquid for spraying, and readily ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Novel ETFE based radiation grafted poly(styrene sulfonic acid-co-methacrylonitrile) proton conducting membranes with increased stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Styrene radiation grafted ETFE based proton conducting membranes are subject to degradation under fuel cell operating conditions and show a poor stability. Lifetimes exceeding 250 h can only be achieved with crosslinked membranes.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
