The Treatment of Chemical Dependence
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1989To the Editor.— I was amazed and dismayed after reading the brief communication by Dr Weiss entitled "Relapse to Cocaine Abuse After Initiating Desipramine Treatment." 1 I was amazed that the article, tantamount to the reporting of reactions in patients with known penicillin allergy given penicillin, would be published in a reputable medical journal ...

An Attempt at a Chemical Treatment of Myopia
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1971In a preliminary study it was found that the corneal stroma of living rabbits can be shrunk by the brief application of concentrated salt solutions. In most cases the changes reversed in time but in a few animals it appeared that a permanent flattening of 2 to 3 diopters remained.

Effect of Chemical Treatment on the Tensile Strength Behavior of Coir Geotextiles
Journal of Natural Fibers, 2018The present study investigates the effects of chemical treatment on the tensile strength behavior of the two woven and two nonwoven coir geotextiles. The results reveal that tensile elongation at failure for the untreated and treated woven and nonwoven ...

Chemical burns: Pathophysiology and treatment
Burns, 2010Chemical burns continue to pose a variety of dilemmas to the clinician managing such cases. Assessment of burn depth is often difficult and the decision whether to excise the wound early is not always clear-cut. In this updated review, common agents are classified and the basic principles of management and specific recommendations are examined.

Influence of Chemical Treatment on Chemical Changes of Fir Wood
Key Engineering Materials, 2016Many chemicals are used to prolong wood lifetime and protect wood against wood-destroying organisms and fire but there is not sufficient information about their possible corrosive effects on wood and its structural components from the perspective of long-term exposition in unsuitable condition.

Chemical Treatment of External Otitis
Southern Medical Journal, 1977From 1962 through 1969, 2,008 cases of external otitis were treated chemically. The auditory canal was cleaned and a gauze wick saturated with 20% silver nitrate solution was introduced. The next day the wick was replaced with one saturated with Burow's solution. After two to three days, this wick was removed and the canal cleaned.
