Evaluation of Yield, Chemical Composition and Antioxidant Capacity of the Essential Oil From Leaves and Fruits (Seed and Bark) of Virola sebifera Aubl. (Myristicaceae)

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, EarlyView.
In the study of V. sebifera plant organs, the leaves exhibited the highest EO content, with peak production in February, the Amazonian winter. Notably, among the various plant parts yielding EO, the fruit peel contained the highest oil concentration. ABSTRACT The essential oils (EOs) of Virola sebifera were obtained from leaves, seed fruits and husked ...

Homoscedastic controlled calibration model [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemometrics, v. 21, p. 145-155, 2007, 2008
In the context of the usual calibration model, we consider the case in which the independent variable is unobservable, but a pre-fixed value on its surrogate is available. Thus, considering controlled variables and assuming that the measurement errors have equal variances we propose a new calibration model.

Chemometrics and Modeling

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2001
Chemometrics is a chemical discipline in which mathematical and statistical techniques are applied to design experiments or to analyze chemical data. An important part of chemometrics is modeling, in which one tries to relate two or more characteristics in such a way that the obtained model represents reality as closely as possible.

A self-reactivated PdCu catalyst for aldehyde electro-oxidation with anodic hydrogen production

open access: yesNature Communications
The low-potential aldehyde oxidation reaction can occur at low potential (~0 VRHE) and release H2 at the anode, enabling hydrogen production with less than one-tenth of the energy consumption required for water splitting.

Integrating surface‐enhanced Raman scattering with machine learning: Pioneering a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic platform for cancer management

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Integrating Surface‐Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) with machine learning creates a powerful platform for cancer management. This approach enhances diagnostic precision through non‐invasive molecular fingerprinting and enables real‐time therapeutic monitoring. By combining SERS with machine learning, it offers a comprehensive solution for early cancer

Deep learning for Chemometric and non-translational data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We propose a novel method to train deep convolutional neural networks which learn from multiple data sets of varying input sizes through weight sharing. This is an advantage in chemometrics where individual measurements represent exact chemical compounds and thus signals cannot be translated or resized without disturbing their interpretation.
