Novel Fluorescent Probe Based on Anthryl Dendron Having Oligo(ethyleneoxide) Groups at the Terminals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Amphiphilic anthryl dendrons 5 and 6, which have carboxylate groups or oligo(ethyleneoxide) groups at the terminals, show solvatochromic properties. Reaction efficiency of photodimerization and dynamic light scattering (DLS) experiment of 5 and 6 reveal ...

Design of luminescent sulfur-containing polynuclear gold(I) complexes for advanced nanomaterials and chemosensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A series of high-nuclearity gold(I) sulfido complexes with bridging diphosphine ligands have been synthesized and isolated, with the general formulae of [Au10(μ-P∧P)4(μ3-S) 4]X2 and [Au12(μ-P∧P) 6(μ3-S)4]X4 (P∧P = diphosphine; X = PF6 or ClO4).

Genetic code expansion for chemosensing and chemical actuation of biological functions

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, EarlyView.
Genetic code expansion (GCE) broadens the chemical repertoire for precise control of protein function in biological systems. This review highlights GCE‐based sensing and actuating systems that operate through selective interactions between noncanonical amino acids and chemical triggers.

Cyanide and fluoride colorimetric sensing by novel imidazo-anthraquinones functionalized with indole and carbazole [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Novel imidazo-anthraquinones functionalized with indole and carbazole have been synthesised and characterised and their evaluation as colorimetric chemosensors was carried out in acetonitrile as well as in acetonitrile/H2O (97:3) in the presence of ...

N‐Aryl Acridone Derivatives as Effective Catalysts for Energy Transfer Reactions

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Acridones derivatives have high triplet energy, are simple accessible, and could be used in challenging [2+2] ENT reactions. ABSTRACT Organic photocatalysts capable of promoting high‐energy triplet energy transfer (EnT) remain limited, particularly for demanding [2+2] photocycloaddition reactions.

Measurement of polystyrene photodegradation rate using a quartz crystal microbalance

open access: yesIET Nanobiotechnology, 2022
Polystyrene is a very popular polymer utilised in the manufacture of various consumer products. This polymer is very cheap; however, after its usage, the slowness of its photodegradation leads to environmental pollution.

On the Planarity of Heterocyclic Bay‐Substituted Perylenediimides: Insight into the Fluorescent Photoinduced Electron Transfer Sensing Framework

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Near‐infrared fluorescent pH indicators based on perylenediimide were constructed in a modular receptor–spacer–fluorophore–spacer–receptor format with heterocyclic amino moieties at the bay positions. Counterintuitively, the dibrominated intermediate with two heavy atoms is more emissive than the heterocyclic compounds.

Ketogenic diet for infantile epileptic spasms

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Approximately half of all cases of Infantile Epileptic Spasms Syndrome (IESS) do not respond to vigabatrin and hormonal therapies. There is no clear consensus as to the second‐line therapy for IESS. Ketogenic diet (KD) has emerged as an effective treatment for certain drug‐resistant epilepsies and in many cases of IESS.
