Axion‐Like Interactions and CFT in Topological Matter, Anomaly Sum Rules and the Faraday Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 4, Issue 7, July 2025.
This review investigates the connection between chiral anomalies and their manifestation in topological materials, using both perturbative methods based on ordinary quantum field theory and conformal field theory (CFT). It emphasizes the role of CFT in momentum space for parity‐odd correlation functions, and their reconstruction by the inclusion of a ...

Holographic description of Narain CFTs and their code-based ensembles

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We provide a precise relation between an ensemble of Narain conformal field theories (CFTs) with central charge c = n, and a sum of (U(1) × U(1)) n Chern-Simons theories on different handlebody topologies.

The Iwasawa invariants of Zpd${\mathbb {Z}}_{p}^{\,d}$‐covers of links

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract Let p$p$ be a prime number and let d∈Z>0$d\in {\mathbb {Z}}_{>0}$. In this paper, following the analogy between knots and primes, we study the p$p$‐torsion growth in a compatible system of (Z/pnZ)d$({\mathbb {Z}}/p^n{\mathbb {Z}})^d$‐covers of 3‐manifolds and establish several analogues of Cuoco–Monsky's multivariable versions of Iwasawa's ...

N = 8 Superconformal Chern--Simons Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A Lagrangian description of a maximally supersymmetric conformal field theory in three dimensions was constructed recently by Bagger and Lambert (BL).

Wall‐crossing for quasimaps to GIT stack bundles

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract We define the notion of ε$\epsilon$‐stable quasimaps to a GIT stack bundle, and study the wall‐crossing behavior of the resulting ε$\epsilon$‐quasimap theory as ε$\epsilon$ varies.

Chern-Simons dualities with multiple flavors at large N

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We study U(N ) k Chern-Simons theory coupled to fundamental fermions and scalars in a large N ‘t Hooft limit. We compute the thermal free energy at high temperature, as well as two- and three-point functions of simple gauge-invariant operators.

6d/5d exceptional gauge theories from web diagrams

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We construct novel web diagrams with a trivalent or quadrivalent gluing for various 6d/5d theories from certain Higgsings of 6d conformal matter theories on a circle.

The Temperley–Lieb tower and the Weyl algebra

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract We define a monoidal category W${\mathbf {W}}$ and a closely related 2‐category 2Weyl${\mathbf {2Weyl}}$ using diagrammatic methods. We show that 2Weyl${\mathbf {2Weyl}}$ acts on the category TL:=⨁nTLn−mod$\mathbf {TL}:=\bigoplus _n \operatorname{TL}_n\mathrm{-mod}$ of modules over Temperley–Lieb algebras, with its generating 1‐morphisms ...

Fermionic CFTs from topological boundaries in abelian Chern-Simons theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
A quantum field theory is referred to as bosonic (non-spin) if its physical quantities are independent of the spacetime spin structure, and as fermionic (spin) if they depend on it.
