An almost-integral universal Vassiliev invariant of knots

open access: yes, 2002
A `total Chern class' invariant of knots is defined. This is a universal Vassiliev invariant which is integral `on the level of Lie algebras' but it is not expressible as an integer sum of diagrams.

Bulk‐Edge Correspondence and Multiplexing Topological Routings in Gyromagnetic Photonic Weyl Metamaterials

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
In this work, various topological phases and the bulk‐edge correspondence are studied and established in gyromagnetic photonic Weyl metamaterials. Based on rigorous theoretical analysis, the comprehensive depictions of the multiple topological phase diagrams and multi‐type bulk‐edge correspondences are further mapped out.

Sputter‐Grown MnBi2Te4 Thin Films: Magnetic Ground States and Phase Control

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, EarlyView.
Magnetron sputtering enables the growth of smooth MnBi2Te4 thin films with reduced twinning and improved crystallinity. Bibby et al. systematically correlate composition, structure, and magnetic properties, revealing that excess Mn destabilizes the target phase, while even stoichiometric films exhibit suppressed interlayer coupling and weak magnetic ...

On the Pulsating Strings in AdS4×ℂℙ3

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2009
We study the class of pulsating strings on AdS4×ℂℙ3. Using a generalized ansatz for pulsating string configurations we find new solutions of this class. Further we quasiclassically quantize the theory and obtain the first corrections to the energy.

Ghosts in higher derivative Maxwell-Chern-Simon's theory and PT-symmetry

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2020
Ghost fields in quantum field theory have been a long standing problem. Specifically, theories with higher derivatives involve ghosts that appear in the Hamiltonian in the form of linear momenta term, which is commonly known as the Ostrogradski ghost ...

Cuprate Twistronics for Quantum Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
This review bridges decades of foundational research with emerging fabrication techniques such as molecular beam epitaxy and cryogenic stacking. By enabling control over electronic correlations and symmetry in twisted cuprate heterostructures, it highlights how cuprate twistronics could open new paths to overcome decoherence and scalability challenges ...

Chern-Simons theory, decomposition, and the A model

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper, we discuss how gauging one-form symmetries in Chern-Simons theories is implemented in an A-twisted topological open string theory. For example, the contribution from a fixed H/Z bundle on a three-manifold M, arising in a BZ gauging of H ...

The Chern-Mather class of the multiview variety [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The multiview varietyassociated to a collection of N cameras records which sequences of image points in ℙ2N can be obtained by taking pictures of a given world point x∈ℙ3 with the cameras.

Information systems and digitization of traditional knowledge: Trends in cultural heritage and memory institutions and the WIPO Genetic Resources Treaty*

open access: yesThe Journal of World Intellectual Property, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding the role of information communication technologies (ICTs) in development, especially in relation to marginalized populations, has been the focus of many related disciplinary categories within the broader ecosystem of information sciences.

Volumes of Bott–Chern Classes

open access: yesPeking Mathematical Journal
Abstract We study the volumes of transcendental and possibly non-closed Bott–Chern (1, 1)-classes on an arbitrary compact complex manifold X. We show that the latter belongs to the Fujiki class $$\mathcal {C}$$ C if and only if it ...
