Characterization of generalized Chernikov groups among groups with involutions
Mathematical Notes, 1997 A group \(G\) is said to be a generalized Chernikov group if it is the extension of a direct product \(A\) of Prüfer \(p\)-groups with finitely many factors for each prime \(p\) by a locally normal and finite group, and each element of \(G\) commutes elementwise with all but finitely many Sylow subgroups of \(A\).

On locally soluble periodic groups with Chernikov centralizer of a four-subgroup [PDF]
Proceedings of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society, 1994 Let G be a locally soluble periodic group having a four-subgroup V. We show that if CG(V) is Chernikov then G is hyperabelian-by-Chernikov, if CG(V) is finite then G is hyperabelian.
