Long-term mental health crisis among municipal public employees caused by the Fukushima nuclear accident and subsequent disasters: Questionnaire survey 10 years postdisaster. [PDF]

open access: yesPCN Rep
The results of this study showed that the psychological burden on MPEs was particularly severe after the nuclear accident and subsequent disasters. We summarized five common risk factors in all disasters and seven additional risk factors in cases of nuclear accidents that cause severe psychological stress in MPEs.

Reconstruction and resilience after Fukushima: A critical analysis of nuclear risk and disaster

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Sociology, Volume 32, Issue 1, Page 25-44, March 2023., 2023
Abstract This article revisits the concept of reconstruction in light of the Fukushima nuclear accident on March 11, 2011. It also offers an analysis of the reconstruction policy launched by the Japanese authorities in the context of the risk due to low‐dose radiation. What does reconstruction mean after this nuclear disaster?

Atmospheric phosphorus deposition amplifies carbon sinks in simulations of a tropical forest in Central Africa

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 237, Issue 6, Page 2054-2068, March 2023., 2023
Summary Spatial redistribution of nutrients by atmospheric transport and deposition could theoretically act as a continental‐scale mechanism which counteracts declines in soil fertility caused by nutrient lock‐up in accumulating biomass in tropical forests in Central Africa.

The Role of Nuclear Energy in Reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions and Energy Security: A Systematic Review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
The energy sector accounts for about two‐thirds of all human‐related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions due to the reliance on fossil‐based fuels. This is a significant concern as it can have dire consequences on the survival of humankind and disrupt other natural processes.

Acceptable Level of Acceptance and the Affecting Factors: What Is the Acceptable Public Acceptance of Building a Nuclear Power Plant

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
This research determines the Acceptable Level of Acceptance (ALA) based on the countries with active Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The ALA is a particular value of public acceptance of NPP, indicating public support and participation in the program. If the public acceptance level is lower than the ALA, then the probability of public resistance against the

Strategic roadmap to assess forest vulnerability under air pollution and climate change

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 28, Issue 17, Page 5062-5085, September 2022., 2022
Air pollution and climate change interact in affecting forest ecosystems. IUFRO experts propose major prospects for protecting vulnerable forests. We need more long‐term ground monitoring sites, satellite monitoring, species‐specific critical levels, combined experimental studies e.g.
